According to a new report published by Cowen Investment Bank, the release of the new Apple iPhone 12 series will be delayed for at least two months and will take place in November instead of the usual time frame in mid-September every year.
Previous reports have estimated a delay of 1 month in both start-up and mass production due to the ongoing coronovirus pandemic.
The new report also predicts a combined production of 35 million units in the second quarter of 2020, which will be 13% lower than the same period last year. Regardless of the actual release date of the new Apple iPhone 12 series, we will need 4 new models, which will support 5G connectivity and will be accompanied by OLED panels with smaller notches.
The diagonal screens will range between 5.4 to 6.7 inches with two 6.1-inch models. As for the design, we expect a square casing that will refer to the external form of the iPad Pro.
On the inside, Apple is expected to make its debut with the A14 chipset based on TSMC's 5nm process. RAM on the iPhone 5.4 and 6.1 inches will start at 4 GB, while premium models with screen sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches will have 6GB of RAM and storage up to 512 GB. There is also talk of an option with a 128 GB ROM that replaces the current 64GB variant.
